We are well into November and gratitude season, and there is plenty to be grateful for…family, a warm home, a group of supportive women friends, and this space to write in. But near and dear to my heart is the opportunity to prepare and share delicious food with people. And that’s what I think Thanksgiving is all about.
Thanksgiving is also a huge outside of most peoples' dinner party box. And, it is just that, an elaborately themed dinner party that many plan, prepare, and serve to upwards of 18-20 people. If you read my Modern Dinner Party issue, as you know, I prefer a more intimate number. Still, these holidays are the type that brings extended family and friends together to share a meal, bringing with it all the things that challenge a professional party planner daily.

I hope your Thanksgiving planning brings you joy, and remember, people do not care if your house is immaculate, and dust-free, nor if your turkey breast is dry…it will be and that’s what gravy is for! Most people, the good ones, only care that you are together, sharing a meal, laughing at the same stories you tell every time you get together. Life is about the stories, the memories, and the people you share them with!
